The OBCDC has a number of programs that relate to the upkeep and marketing of homes. We also assist with housing foreclosure and credit issues homeowners may have. The programs are mainly funded through the City of Cleveland and other nonprofit sources. The staff at the CDC will work with residents on how to meet their needs with regard to any home improvements or foreclosure problems they are having with their home.

OBCDC also works closely with the City’s Department of Building and Housing around housing code and health related issues within residential districts. The housing code staff will work with residents who receive a violation notice to help get the violation resolved.

Listed below are a number of programs the CDC provides. More comprehensive information on each one along with other services provided is in the Resources for Homeowners brochure which is listed below.

OBCDC Residential Purchase and Rehab Program

Recently the CDC developed a program where we are obtaining homes through the City of Cleveland or other sources for a very low purchase price and then rehabbing those homes to then be sold to anyone interested in living in our service area. In most cases the rehab is a thorough renovation of the home.

OBCDC completed the first of these projects in early 2010. Before and after photos can be viewed here [pdf]. It was sold three months after renovation work started on the home for $59,900. Stay tuned to this section for future homes the CDC will be renovating.

In addition to OBCDC rehabbing homes, we will also be turning over homes through a specialized development partnership agreement to qualified contractors who will commit to renovating and reselling the homes provided. The basic guidelines for that agreement can be reviewed here [pdf]. If you are a licensed and bonded residential contractor and want further information on this program, please contact Robyn Sandys or David Fox at 216-459-1000 or through info@oldbrooklyn.com.
