Home Repair Loans

CLEVELAND ACTION TO SUPPORT HOUSING (CASH)

CASH loans are designed to improve health and safety features of a home, which includes electrical, plumbing, and heating systems. Funds may also be used for aesthetic improvements and other repairs.

Income Eligibility: No income limit
Current Interest Rate: 3.2%
Term: Maximum is 12 years
Who qualifies: Homeowners occupying 1 to 4 unit dwellings

CLEVELAND FIX-UP FUND

Rehabilitation dollars for maintenance and home home repairs, including plumbing and electrical, landscaping, driveways, garages, roofs, porches, etc.

Maximum Amount: Up to $15,000, minimum loan amount is $500
Current Interest Rate: 6.49%
Term: Up to 15 years
Who qualifies: Owner-occupied units and investment properties

CLEVELAND RESTORATION SOCIETY & NEIGHBORHOOD HERITAGE/HISTORIC
PRESERVATION LOAN

Cleveland Restoration Society offers low interest loans and technical assistance for rehabilitations to maintain the architectural integrity and historical significance of this Local Landmark District.

Interest Rate: 1.3%
Term: 10 or 12 years
Who Qualifies: Homeowners within the Local Landmark District

HOME ENHANCEMENT LOAN PROGRAM (HELP)

Loans are available at 3% below the market rate and can be used for alterations, repairs, maintenance or improvements, and general property upgrades. Applications are available at these participating banks: Fifth Third, First Merit, Huntington, KeyBank, National City, and US Bank.

Minimum Loan Amount: $1500
Income Eligibility: No Income limit
Interest Rate: Varies, can be as low as 4.99%
Term: Up to 5 years
Who Qualifies: Owners of 1-4 family units

NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES of Cleveland

Low cost loans for a wide variety of home repair issues, provide construction assistance and free estimates.

Income Eligibility: No income limit
Current Interest Rate: 6.5%
Term: Maximum is 20 years

REPAIR-A-HOME (RAH)

RAH was created to help homeowners to maintain the exterior, interior and upgrade their property according to health and safety code standards. Monies must be used to repair homes for housing code violations.

Income Eligibility: Call for income qualifications
Interest Rate: 0% to 3%
Term: Max. of 30 years for loans over $10,000 and 15 years for loans under $10,000
Who Qualifies: Owner occupants of 1 to 4 family unit dwellings

Senior Grants

SENIOR HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SHAP)

Grants are available for health and safety repairs such as roofs, porches and electrical work through the City of Cleveland Department of Aging at 216-664-2833.

Income Eligibility:Call for income qualifications
Who Qualifies: Seniors age 60+ and disabled, low income homeowners.

ELDERLY HOME REPAIR PROGRAM

Grants available for minor home repairs and maintenance through Community Housing Solutions at 216-651-0077.

Maximum Amount: Up to $500 depending on scope of work.
Who Qualifies: Seniors age 60+ meeting income requirements.

CHORE

CHORE workers provide a a variety of home maintenance tasks and transportation services. For a list of these tasks, contact 216-664-2833.

Paint Voucher Program

PAINT REFUND PROGRAM

OBCDC, in partnership with the City of Cleveland, provides supply and paint vouchers of up to $400 to cover the cost of paint and materials. The application period opens in May and inds in July each year.

Maximum Amount: $400 per house
Income Eligibility: Call for income qualifications

Weatherization

HOME WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (HWAP)

Weatherization and energy conservation programs designed to keep your home running efficiently while saving your family money on monthly utility bills.

Maximum Amount: $2,300 per home
Income Eligibility: Call for income qualifications
Who Qualifies: Homeowners and Renters

FURNACE INSPECTION AND REPAIR

Free safety inspection and tune–up or repair of heating units. For more information, call Cleveland Housing Solutions at 216-651-0077.
