Old Brooklyn’s 50th Anniversary

October 2024 marks the beginning of a year of celebration at Old Brooklyn CDC!

From October 2024 to October 2025, OBCDC is celebrating our 50th Anniversary, kicking things off at OB StreetFest and OB Day.

To honor Old Brooklyn CDC's history of community-driven impact over the past 50 years, OBCDC is excited to announce our 50 for 50 campaign! We are raising $50,000 for our 50th Anniversary.

Over the next year, we want everyone to get involved and help us raise $50K that will go to support a community room.

The new Community Room will enable the community in Old Brooklyn to have a welcoming and accessible space for residents to gather, learn, and connect. Whether it's hosting a neighborhood meeting, offering workshops on home repairs, or supporting small businesses and local clubs, this room will be an essential hub for fostering collaboration, growth, and investment within the community.

Help us reach our goal of $50,000!

Past Old Brooklyn Days

The past few years have seen Old Brooklyn Community Development staff and volunteers out and about in the neighborhood completing fun projects that make this neighborhood a great place to live.

Past projects included street clean-ups, mural painting with kids at the South Brooklyn Library and seniors at Senior Citizen Resources, and tree plantings at Estabrook Recreation Center.

Three young girls standing behind a table coloring a large painted picture of a cartoon character, with a woman in the background looking at her phone in a room with a high ceiling and blue ductwork.
Group of five people smiling at an outdoor painting event, with tables displaying caricatures of faces they painted, on a parking lot next to a brick building.
Two women planting a small tree in a grassy park on a sunny day with a partly cloudy sky and autumn trees in the background.
Two people collecting weeds from a sidewalk in an urban area. One man with sunglasses wearing a hoodie and camouflage pants and a woman with black hair wearing a gray hoodie and black pants. They both have blue buckets and are using tools to remove weeds.
