Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation invites you to our 2026 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 27, from 6-7:30 p.m. at The Foundry Concert Club.

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the past year, recognize those making a difference in Old Brooklyn and conduct important business of the organization. 

During the evening, OBCDC will present our annual Founders Award, Volunteer of the Year Award and Small Business of the Year Award. Members in good standing will also vote on candidates for the OBCDC Board of Directors.

This year, members will also be asked to consider and vote on a comprehensive overhaul of OBCDC’s Code of Regulations.

This is much more than a routine amendment. The proposed Code represents a comprehensive modernization of OBCDC’s governing document, clarifying the roles and responsibilities of our members, Board of Directors and staff. The revisions strengthen financial oversight and accountability, address gaps in existing procedures and establish important protections for the organization and those who serve it.

These changes also better align our governing document with Ohio nonprofit law, IRS expectations for 501(c)(3) organizations and established standards for nonprofit governance. While our existing Code has served OBCDC for many years, our organization has evolved, and its governing framework must evolve with it. This overhaul will strengthen OBCDC’s long-term stability, transparency and legal requirements.

Because of the size and significance of the proposed changes, we are providing members with several documents in advance so you can fully review the proposal before voting: 

• Guide to the Proposed Changes — a detailed explanation of each major change and why it is being recommended

• Current Code of Regulations — the existing governing document as passed in 2024

• Redlined Proposed Code of Regulations — showing changes from the current Code

• Clean Proposed Code of Regulations — the complete proposed document as it would read if approved

• Board Candidate Bios — information about each candidate nominated for election

In addition, I will be holding open office hours sessions for members who have questions about the proposed changes. Members are welcome to attend either session.
